About Therapy in a Nutshell
I’m Emma McAdam, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and my mission is to make mental health resources easier to access. I take therapy skills and psychological research and condense them down into bite-sized nuggets of help. As a licensed therapist, one thing I’ve noticed is that most people have no idea of what they can do to improve depression, anxiety, or other mental illness. I’m here to spread the message that while mental illness is real, it’s common, it’s debilitating, it’s also treatable. There are dozens of research-backed approaches to treating depression, anxiety, ptsd, and other mental illness. Change, growth, and healing are possible. Please keep courage! Try one little thing every day to improve your life and health, and things can get so much better! I am not currently taking any new clients, but you can find a therapist with my sponsor: BetterHelp.com/therapyinanutshell
How to read Therapy in a Nutshell's numbers
Average views per video (273,279). This spreads lifetime views across every public upload, so older uploads that have had years to accumulate views are averaged together with recent ones. It is a useful scale check, not a prediction of how the next video will perform.
Views per subscriber (73.5). A rough measure of how much watch demand each subscriber represents over the channel's lifetime. Channels that reach large non-subscribed audiences — through search, Shorts or recommendations — tend to show a higher figure than channels that rely mainly on their existing subscriber base.
Upload cadence (~5.7 per month). Averaged across the channel's full history of about 10 years, so a channel that changed format or publishing pace along the way will not match this figure in any single recent month.
All figures come from public YouTube channel data and are refreshed on a schedule. They are research signals for comparison and context — they are not private YouTube Studio analytics, and they do not include revenue, watch time or audience retention. Read the full methodology.
